Building with the AI subscription you already pay for

If you already pay for Claude or Codex, you are paying for frontier AI twice the moment you also buy credits from a builder that resells it. Running your own subscription removes the second bill and, more importantly, removes the meter that changes how you work.

What actually changes

• A hundred small corrections cost the same as one big prompt, which is nothing extra.
• The limits you hit are the ones you already agreed with your provider, not a second set on top.
• The model you get is the real one at full strength, not a cheaper substitute chosen to protect somebody's margin.
• If you change tools, the subscription is still yours.

The catch, stated plainly

You need the subscription first. If you do not have one and do not want one, this arrangement is worse for you, not better, and a builder that includes the AI is the simpler choice. It is a genuinely different starting point rather than a strictly better one.

How it works in practice

In Ura it is one sign-in and nothing to configure. Claude Code and Codex are on the shelf; Kimi and Qwen are one toggle away in Settings if that is your day. The model is implied by the engine, so there is no list of model names to choose between.
